CJ Redden Liotta (BA, University of North Texas, MM, DMA, George Mason University) has been an active professional musician in the Washington, DC area for nearly 20 years. He currently serves as the Music Minister at Vienna Baptist Church and as Director of Choral Activities and Piano Instructor at Falls Church High School in Fairfax County. Previously, he served as assistant conductor at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, VA, and has taught as an adjunct professor of music at George Mason University, where he has taught Fundamentals of Music and Aural Skills. As a conductor, he served for five years as a Graduate Conducting Associate at George Mason University where, in addition to serving as Assistant Conductor of the University Chorale and the Mason Jazz Vocal Ensemble, he conducted the University Singers, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. He is the founding musical director of the Festival Singers of Northern Virginia, and was formerly the Musical Director for the Woodbridge Community Chorus and Music Director and Conductor for the Repertory Opera Theatre of Washington.
Dr. Redden-Liotta received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting at George Mason University as a student of Dr. Lisa Billingham and Dr. Stanley Engebretson, and has also studied conducting with Anthony Maiello and voice with John Aler. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association and The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada. He was selected as a Lovelace Scholar for 2014 and 2015 by the Hymn Society and selected as a participant in the Raising the Song Symposium of the Center for Liturgy and Music at the Virginia Theological Seminary. He also served two terms as the Music in Worship Repertoire and Standards Chairperson for Virginia ACDA.
